This 52 count deck (51 playing cards, 1 instructional) is so intriguing given its age, from 1897 and was made in Cincinnati! The lettering and numbering on each card is in a rich pinkish maroon color and each individual card features a different famous painting from history! The Mona Lisa, a Rembrandt painting, landscapes, horses, and many more are depicted in this antique deck.
The cover picture on each card features the profile of a young girl, looking off to her left, and is entirely lovely!
A true antique treasure, we absolutely adore this deck! The original box is included with the deck, and shows some damaging. The box is ripped along one side, has some removal of the surface in certain areas, and has some modern day crayon drawing along the inside of the top cover. However, the box has guarded the deck beautifully, as the cards themselves are in fantastic shape!
